Free Textures and One .png Object

A couple of new textures, and a free .png file today.

Green Reflections - 512 X 512

This is created from a photo of water reflecting the greet forests surrounding it. It was, in actual fact, this colour - the water appears green, though it isn't. The glassy, slightly rippled surface of this should make a nice texture.



Pebbled Patio - based on a recent patio stone design which looks like these small pebbles, rather than the standard patio stones. The stones are a nice addition to your yard if you want to avoid too much "concrete", but still need a solid walkway or patio. This texture should make a nice outdoor patio (ground plane) or pathway in any 3d render.



Red Dirt - a deeper shade than the red dirt found inGeorgia, it's design was based on that. I'd never seen red dirt of that colour southern red until we took a holiday in Georgia.




Construction Pylon (png with transparency) - a standard construction pylon of black and orange strips, though this one has a scruffy bit of yellow warning tape wrapped around the top.

"White Carnation" - translucent close up of white carnation petals.

More Free Blog Headers

The next few headers designed for the Minima template are ready.

Designed specifically for use with the "Minima" blogger templates. To download the image, click on the image shown in the post to get the larger size, right click (on a PC) and select "save as" and save it to your own computer.

Add your own text and blog title, and then apply it to your blog by using the "Layout" tab. Select the "Header" element on the layouts page and upload the image using the "replace" option.

Leaves - shades of green with leaves & tree outlines, done in an illustrative style.



Outdoor Cats - two feral cats; mama and baby. Photographic background with transparent overlay for text.



Smoked Tan - tan, beige and taupe background with subtle color shifts.



Space Shuttle - photographic background of the spaceshuttle taking off from Nasa. The shuttle image comes from Nasa's Photo Library, and their licensing encourages this usage.



Threads - for the sewers out there. A photographic background of buttons with spools of thread and other sewing supplies.



Wine - for the wine connoisseurs. Wine bottle, glasses and fruit on a reflective gold surface with a slate background.




There is one header resized to fit the templates "897" or "565". When using this you must select the header option to be "instead of" text, rather than behind it. If you use the "behind the text" option the header will allow the bottom of the original head background to show beneath.

Fire Bricks - the same header as the one designed for Minima; this one is sized to fit the templates 897 or 565

"Burgundy Daylily" - crop of a garden daylily in burgundy and yellow forms the background, while a semi-transparent overlay allows for text.



"Fire Bricks" - a background of bricks fired with flames.



"Hand Painted Lily" - a crop of a painting of a Lemon Daylily forms the background, with a small framed image of the lily on the right.




A mention in your blog and link to where you got the header would be appreciated. Besides, I'd really like to see what you do with these!

Some New Freebies Coming Up!

I'm in the process of preparing some new-style freebies. Not exactly textures, or objects - just something I've been having a little fun with.

Appearing soon will be free header graphics for use in Blogger blogs - the first batch will be designed to fit the "Minima Templates" designed by Douglas Bowman, and those will be reworked shortly after the Minima releases to fit Douglas Bowman's "897" and "565" Blogger Templates. Other's will follow as time permits.

There are currently a dozen headers in the works, with more to come. The posted samples will be full size for each template, and will contain only graphics and backgrounds, no text. You can fill in your own text in any graphic editing program, or contact me with the details (and the name of the header you want to use) and I'll be happy to add the text.
